Running jobs from the field

The operator experience is built for a phone in a muddy glove, with big tap targets, one step at a time, and auto-save after every input. No app store required: it runs in any mobile browser and works offline.

1. Accessing the app

Operators open truesitesolutions.com in their phone's browser and sign in. After login they land on My Tasks, their personal view of everything assigned to them. Admins who want to see the operator perspective can navigate to Workflows and click any active task row to open the same runner in read-only review mode.

Add the site to the home screen (Safari: Share → Add to Home Screen; Chrome: ⋮ → Add to Home Screen) and it behaves like a native app: full screen, no browser chrome.

2. My Tasks screen

My Tasks is the operator's home screen. It shows two things:

  • Active tasks: SOP workflows the operator has already started, with a progress bar. When there is exactly one active task, a dark "Continue where you left off" card appears at the top for a one-tap resume.
  • Upcoming assignments: jobs that are assigned to this operator but haven't been started yet, with client, address, and scheduled date.

3. Running a workflow

Tapping a task opens the step runner, a clean full-screen interface that shows one step at a time. The job title and SOP template name appear in the header, and a thin progress bar below it shows how far through the workflow you are.

1Answer the step: tap Pass/Fail, enter a number, type a note, take a photo, or draw a signature. Each entry saves automatically the moment you interact.
2Tap Save & Continue (or swipe left) to move to the next step. The runner skips ahead to the first unanswered step automatically.
3Step dots along the top let you jump to any step. Completed dots fill in with the brand colour; the active dot stretches wider.
Entries are saved to the server immediately over the network. If you lose signal, the app stays open. Re-enter the response once you have signal and it will save. The Online indicator in the top-right corner shows connectivity status.

4. Step types

Each step in an SOP template has a type that determines what the operator is asked to capture.

Pass / Fail
A binary inspection check. Tap Pass or Fail. If failed, a compliance flag is raised and the admin is notified. Optional notes can be required on failure.

Measurement
Enter a numeric value with a unit (e.g. 3.5 NTU). Acceptable range can be set; the step highlights out-of-range readings.
Text / Notes
Free-text field for observations, site conditions, or any other notes the operator needs to capture.

Photo
Opens the camera (or file picker on desktop). The photo is stored and appears in the compliance report alongside the step it was captured for.

Signature
Operator draws a signature on screen or types their name. The signature is embedded in the PDF report as evidence of sign-off.

5. Completing & submitting

Once all required steps are answered, a green Complete Task button appears on the last step. Tapping it opens a review screen that lists every step with its captured value. From there, tap Submit for Approval and the inspection goes to your manager and a PDF report begins generating immediately.

Required steps must be answered before you can complete the task; the button shows how many are still outstanding. Optional steps can be skipped and won't block submission.
